How we hire

Our hiring process is thorough to ensure we build an exceptional team, and to help you decide if ISD is the right fit for you.

Shortlisting

The team will review all applications for the position and shortlist according to the relevant position criteria.

Top tip: the team love hearing why your're interested in our position and why you think you're the best fit for the job, so a good cover letter goes a long way!

1st Stage Interview

In this meeting, your future manager will tell you more about the role, and ask questions to understand your experience and what you could bring to ISD. You can expect questions on how your knowledge and skills make you a perfect fit for the job.

All our recruitment is remote-friendly and suitable for candidates with accessibility requirements.

Assessment

Depending on the role, you may be asked to complete an assessment designed to test your skills or knowledge for the position. This gives you more insight into the challenges of the position and allows us to deliver a fair, thorough and evidence-based process.

Final Interview

You made it to the very last stage! Here you will have the opportunity to meet more of the team and we will answer any remaining questions you might have.

After this meeting, ISD will decide on which candidate to select, and will give feedback to unsuccessful candidates.

Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

ISD is committed to promoting diversity throughout its workforce and aims for its team to be truly representative of all sections of society. We make a concerted effort to ensure our workplace, employment policies and organisational culture creates an inclusive, positive and progressive environment in which all members of our team are treated with dignity and respect. For further information about this policy or our recruitment practices, please email vacancies@isdglobal.org.

We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, carers, and people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

Good to know

No candidate will meet every requirement in the advert. If your experience looks a little different from what we've identified, but you think you can bring value to the role, we'd love to hear from you.

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely and we are happy for you to work in a way that best supports your work life balance.

Our main offices are based in London, Washington D.C. and Berlin and you may work from your contracted office as often as you wish. Occasionally we may require you to attend the office.

Candidates must normally be employed by one of our three legal entities: ISD UK, ISD Germany or ISD-US. If you do not have the right to work in the UK, Germany or US, please check the job advert before applying, as we will specify if we accept applications from outside these countries.

If you see a position you would like to apply for, please do so as soon as possible. ISD reserves the right to interview and appoint candidates prior to the advertised closing date.

Occasionally we experience high volumes of applications and shortlisting takes us a little longer than usual. On these occasions we may only be able to respond to shortlisted candidates. For any queries on the status of your application, please email vacancies@isdglobal.org.
