Salary

$20 per hour 


Location

You may work from our office in Washington DC, from home, or on a hybrid arrangement to suit you. Please note you will be required to attend the office occasionally for team meetings.


Hours

This is a part-time position up to 30 hours per week. Please note your preferred working hours on application. 


Contract type

4 - 6 month fixed term contract, to be agreed with the successful candidate.

The role

The US Digital Policy Intern would work closely with the Head of Technology and Society, the broader research teams in the US, and the Digital Policy Lab, to support ISD’s work on forming and implementing ISD’s policy agenda in the US. The Intern will assist the team in tracking digital policy developments, support stakeholder engagement, and help produce written outputs.

Key responsibilities 

  • Track relevant developments in federal and state digital policy, including tracking Congressional hearings, attending coalition meetings, and conducting independent monitoring of relevant stakeholders in the digital policy landscape.
  • Conduct follow-on research related to on- and offline threats to support ISD’s understanding of the threat landscape using a mix of ethnographic monitoring and tools.
