Salary 
Dependent on experience, not to exceed JOD 1,800.

Location 

You may work in a hybrid arrangement to suit you. The successful candidate is required to have the right to work in Jordan. We cannot provide Visa sponsorship for this role.

Contract type 

Fixed term to April 2026, full-time (40 hours per week). Contract may be extended dependent on funding.

Job requirements

The Finance and Operations Coordinator will play a key role within the ISD Jordan team, supporting the effective delivery of the “Strengthening Prevention and Response Mechanisms to Intersectional Online Hate Speech in Jordan” project, funded by the European Commission. This project aims to counter online hate speech, particularly where it intersects with issues of gender, race, religion, and other identity markers.

The post holder will also be responsible for overseeing and managing all financial, administrative, and operational functions related to the project. This includes budget monitoring and reporting, compliance with donor and ISD policies, procurement and contracting processes, financial forecasting, and logistical coordination of project activities. The role ensures that project resources are used efficiently and transparently to meet strategic and operational goals. Key responsibilities will include:


Accounting and Bookkeeping (20%)
 

  • Bank account administration, processing payments and payroll, monitoring cash flow, administration of project disbursements 

  • Understanding and advising on ISD’s financial procedures, donor compliance requirements and Jordanian compliance requirements. 

  • Prepare monthly expense reports and maintain clear, up-to-date records of all financial transactions within QuickBooks and MS Teams 

Project Operations and Financial Management (60%) 

  • Support ISD Jordan and the Project Operations Leads in other ISD entities to deliver ISD Jordan’s project portfolio as per agreed workplans, in line with approved budgets and in compliance with ISD, donor and government of Jordan requirements.   

  • Be conversant with ISD’s Project Management Toolkit, Finance Toolkit and Data Protection Toolkit and relevant donor requirements and ensure these standards are applied through the delivery of ISD UK and other grants. 

  • Work collaboratively with ISD’s global project teams to ensure timely financial coordination and availability of funds to support planned activities and maintain smooth project implementation. 

Administration (20%) 

  • Oversee and support travel logistics for project staff and consultants, including booking flights, accommodation, and local transport, in line with ISD travel policies. 

  • Support general office operations and administration, including IT coordination, office rental and maintenance of an efficient working environment. 

  • Supports or leads relationships with ISD Jordan’s operational stakeholders- government agencies, bank/s, legal representatives and other service providers.
